Forwarding messages with Channels

Channels are a feature of Cyborg that allow you to forward on your alerts to various places. The following is a guide to setting up channels.

Step 1: Create a Channel

  • Click the Channels button that can be found at the top of every page.
  • Click the New button at the upper right-hand corner of the channels page.
  • Fill in the details of your channel.
  • Click Add Channel.

Channel Type: The kind of channel you to which you want to forward your events. Can be one of:

  • Slack
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Discord
  • A Zapier Zap
  • Generic webhook
  • An email address
  • An SMS

Channel Name: A short name of your choosing to help you keep track of your channels.

Webhook/DS list: The webhook of the location you wish to send your events in the case of webhook based channels, or the list of email addresses/phone numbers in the case of Email and SMS channels. DS Lists are comma separated.

Step 2: Attach a channel to your flow

  • Go to the Flows page by following the link in the header bar.
  • Click the 3 dots icon next to the flow you wish to connect your channel to, and hit Configure Flow.
  • Select the desired channel/s from the Channels List. You may have a flow connected to more than one channel.
  • Click the Save Changes button.

Your channel is now set up to receive alerts as they come in!
